Our Framework

The FAIR Principles

CDIF4EOSC advances FAIR integration beyond the original principles, incorporating data quality, sensitive data management, trust and data governance.

F

Findable

Data and metadata are easy to find for both humans and computers.

A

Accessible

Once found, data and metadata can be accessed using open protocols.

I

Interoperable

Data uses formats that allow integration with other datasets.

R

Reusable

Data is richly described so it can be replicated or combined in different settings.

About the Project

Developing a FAIR-by-design approach for European Open Science

The distinct approach of the CDIF4EOSC project is to build on the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework (CDIF). The project will extend CDIF recommendations, adding profiles and guidelines and use-case based examples, to form a comprehensive and actionable playbook for FAIR Integration in EOSC and beyond.

  • Improved FAIRness through implementation of CDIF4EOSC profiles and tools
  • Wider uptake by national and European Research Infrastructures and EOSC nodes
  • Operationalisation of FAIR Digital Objects across the entire research lifecycle
  • Enhanced and mainstreamed specifications: FAIR-by-design through CDIF4EOSC
Full Project Overview
Frameworks
